Why your personal information is required and processed
The information is collected to allow you to enter the competition and to be added to the Visit Alderney marketing database to receive our brochure and information about Alderney.
Your personal information is lawfully processed under paragraph 1 (the data subject has given consent) of Schedule 2, Parts I of the Data Protection Law.
As your information is collected through consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time and your Personal Information will be deleted from our files. If you remove your consent before the competition draw, you will not be entered into the competition.
Who will have access to your personal information
This information will be held and processed by the States of Alderney.
Only the winner of the competition will have their name and possibly contact details passed to Aurigny and the Braye Beach Hotel for publication.
You have access to your information, under the Right of Access.
Your information may be accessed by the DPO or civil servants fulfilling rights under the Data Protection laws.
Your information will NOT be transferred to any third parties or unauthorised jurisdictions.

How long is your information kept
Your information is stored securely until after the competition and for as long as you are on the Visit Alderney marketing database for receiving our brochure and information on Alderney. Your information will be removed from the marketing database as soon as you unsubscribe from the service. This information could be kept for longer if there is an outstanding Subject Access Request or legal reason.
Your Rights
Under ‘The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017’ you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data, although not all these will be relevant to this application.

● Right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes, on grounds of public interest or for historical or scientific purposes

● Right to make a complaint to the Data Protection Officer and failing this to the supervisory authority (The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner).
